If your Leicester site is searching for an office water boiler, a boiling water machine or a water dispenser tap, you are usually trying to solve the same problem: getting enough hot water to enough people at the moment they all want it, without a row of kettles.

There are three ways to do that, and the right one depends on how many people break at once, whether there is a sink to fit to, and whether you also want chilled water from the same point. This page explains how we size and site each option for Leicester workplaces, what installation needs, and how servicing works on our scheduled Leicestershire routes.

The options

Water boiler, boiling tap or water dispenser tap

All three are rented on the same all-inclusive basis. The difference is capacity, footprint and what else they dispense.

  • Wall-mount or countertop water boiler (typically 5 to 40 litres): the right choice for canteens, staff rooms and tea points where a crowd arrives at once. Needs a cold mains feed and a power supply; no sink required.
  • Under-sink boiling water tap (typically 2 to 5 litres): for office kitchens with a sink and steady demand through the day. Frees the worktop and replaces the kettle.
  • Water dispenser tap, 4-in-1 (boiling, chilled, ambient and sparkling): for kitchens that would otherwise need a boiling tap and a separate water cooler. One fixture, one service visit.

Sizing

Sizing for Leicester sites: offices versus shift breaks

Office demand is spread through the day, so a city-centre office in the Leicester Business District is usually well served by a boiling tap or a 4-in-1 dispenser tap in each kitchen.

Manufacturing, distribution and warehouse sites around Leicester are different. When a whole shift breaks together, what matters is how many cups the unit can deliver in the first ten minutes and how quickly it reheats. For canteens and welfare areas on those sites we normally specify a larger wall-mount or countertop boiler, sometimes two, rather than a tap.

  • Small office kitchen with steady use: under-sink boiling tap or 4-in-1 tap.
  • Business-park office with a shared kitchen per floor: one boiling or 4-in-1 tap per kitchen.
  • Factory or warehouse canteen with fixed breaks: larger wall-mount or countertop boiler, sized for the break crowd.
  • University, public-sector or healthcare staff rooms: water boiler with a hygiene-led service schedule.

Installation

What installation needs

Every option needs a cold mains water supply and a suitable electrical supply close to where it will sit. A boiling tap also needs space in the cupboard under the sink for its tank and filter. We check all of this on a free site survey before quoting, and agree positions with your facilities team, so there are no surprises on install day.

Scale is the main enemy of any boiler. Every install includes filtration with scale reduction, with cartridges changed on the six-monthly service.

Service

Servicing on scheduled Leicestershire routes

Aquathirst is a family-run business based in Watford, and Leicester sits at the further reach of our routes. Leicester accounts are serviced on scheduled Leicestershire route visits rather than same-day call-outs. Six-monthly servicing, descaling checks, filter changes and sanitisation are planned onto those visits, and service records are kept for each unit.

If a unit develops a fault, report it to our team and the repair is booked onto the earliest Leicestershire route day, by our own engineers, with no per-callout charge.

Frequently asked

Office water boilers in Leicester: common questions

What size water boiler does a Leicester factory canteen need?

It depends on how many people break at the same time rather than total headcount. For a canteen where a shift breaks together we usually specify a larger wall-mount or countertop boiler, and sometimes two units, so the first ten minutes of the break are covered. We confirm the size after a free site survey.

Is a boiling water machine the same as a water boiler?

Usually, yes. "Boiling water machine" is commonly used for a standalone wall-mount or countertop water boiler. A boiling water tap is different: it fits to an existing sink with a smaller tank underneath.

What is a water dispenser tap?

A tap that dispenses more than one type of water from one fixture. Our 4-in-1 taps give boiling, chilled, ambient and sparkling water, replacing both the kettle and a separate water cooler in an office kitchen.

Do I need a sink to have a water boiler installed?

No. A wall-mount or countertop boiler needs a cold mains water supply and power nearby, but not a sink. A boiling water tap or 4-in-1 dispenser tap does need a sink to fit to.

How are water boilers in Leicester serviced?

On scheduled Leicestershire route visits by our own engineers: six-monthly service, filter change and sanitisation, with records kept per unit. Leicester is at the further reach of our routes, so faults are booked onto the earliest route day rather than attended the same day.

What does an office water boiler cost to rent in Leicester?

We quote per site, because the price depends on capacity, the number of units and the installation. Every rental is all-inclusive: equipment, installation, filter changes, six-monthly service and breakdown cover, with no per-callout charges.
