Cookie Policy

How the Aquathirst website uses cookies and similar technologies. Last updated September 2026.

This policy explains what cookies our website (aquathirst.co.uk) uses, why they're there, and how to control them. We keep our cookie use to the minimum we can — the site mostly works without cookies at all, and the ones we do set are there for a specific, documented reason.

For the wider picture on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit it. On your next visit, the site can read the file back — that's how, for example, a login remembers you between page loads, or a shopping site can keep your basket together.

Some cookies also come from third-party services embedded on the page (such as an analytics or payments provider). Those are called third-party cookies — see clause 3 below.

2.What we use cookies for

The cookies we set fall into three groups:

Essential cookies. These make the website work. They keep you signed in while you are in the admin, protect the site from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks on our forms, and remember your cookie-banner choice so we don't re-prompt you on every page. Essential cookies do not need your consent because the site cannot function without them.

Analytics cookies (only with consent). If you accept analytics on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4. These cookies let us see — anonymously and in aggregate — which pages are most useful, where visitors come from, and where the site is confusing. We never enrich this data with any personal identifier. If you decline, the analytics tag is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

Functionality cookies. These remember a low-risk preference you have expressed — for example, the fact that you have already dismissed the cookie banner, or that you have opted a subscription into a pause. They are not used for tracking.

3.Third-party cookies

We use a small number of third-party services on specific pages. Each of them may set its own cookies subject to its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe — on payment pages, to process your card securely and prevent fraud. Stripe's cookies are treated as essential when you are on a checkout page.
  • Google Analytics 4 — only if you have accepted analytics on the cookie banner. Used to measure aggregate site usage; never to identify you individually.

We do not run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party social-media widgets on our website at this time. If that ever changes we will update this policy and re-prompt for consent where needed.

4.Managing cookies

The easiest way to manage your choice for analytics cookies on this website is to change your answer on the cookie banner — you can clear your browser cookies for this site and the banner will re-appear next time you visit.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — every modern browser has a privacy / cookies section. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site (in particular sign-in and form submission) may stop working correctly.

To opt out of Google Analytics globally, you can install the browser add-on Google provides at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add a new third-party service, or if the law around cookies changes. The current version is always the version published on this page, with the “Last updated” date shown below. Material changes will trigger a fresh cookie banner so you can review your consent.

6.Contact us

Questions about this Cookie Policy, or the cookies our site sets, should go to AquathirstUk@outlook.com. We aim to reply within two working days.
